Kool Kaleidoscope Quilt Class

In this class, you'll learn Ricky Tim’s unique method for constructing kaleidoscope-style quilt blocks that explode with color and movement. | Requirements: | Fabric: You will need 15 – 20 different fabrics in ½ yard cuts.* It is recommended that you wait until you hear about the design in class before you get your fabrics. We will allow time for you to purchase fabric after we have this discussion. You CAN bring fabric from your stash and fill in with others if needed. Consider using different values (light/medium/dark). If you tend to use darker fabrics, add in a lighter fabric or two to your selection. Or if you tend toward lighter colors, add in a darker fabric or two to your selection Note taking supplies Sharpened pencil or mechanical pencil A ruler that is at least 6” X 24” and has a 30 degree mark Paper cutting scissors Sewing machine in good working order – bring your machine manual if you have it. Rotary Cutter and extra blades 12” Add-A-Quarter Plus ruler (Not required but VERY helpful) Other sewing notions you might need (Seam ripper, scissors, pins, thread clippers, etc.) BEFORE CLASS BEGINS: At the beginning of class, we will discuss fabric selection. After the discussion, you can purchase what you need for this project or use fabric from your stash. 108” fabrics and Ombres are not recommended. Also, fat quarters will not work. Remember, you get a discount if you purchase your class items from Quilter’s Quarters. We will build our strata (strip sets) in the first class. If you are unsure about the fabrics you have selected, I am available to help. Call or text me at the number below, and we can arrange a time to work together to ensure you are happy with your finished product. *Please note that you may not use all of the ½ yards in the main part of the quilt, but this will give you options to work with or use in your borders and/or binding if you desire.
